Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: April 2026

Fathercraft is built by a small team in the UK. We try to collect as little data as possible while still understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. This page explains what we do and don't collect, and how to opt out.

What we use

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for product analytics. PostHog is a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It runs only after you click Accept on our cookie banner.

What PostHog collects

  • Pages you visit (URL, title, referrer)
  • Clicks and form submissions (autocapture)
  • Device info: browser, OS, screen size, approximate location (country/city) inferred from IP — IP itself is not stored
  • An anonymous session ID and a randomly-generated visitor ID (cookie / localStorage)
  • Custom events we explicitly send — e.g. add_to_cart, newsletter_signup, guide_pdf_downloaded, contact_form_submitted

What we do not collect

  • We don't sell or share your data with advertisers
  • We don't run third-party marketing or ad-tracking pixels
  • We don't record passwords, payment details, or sensitive form fields

Session replays

PostHog can capture session replays (anonymised recordings of on-page activity) to help us debug UX issues. Inputs are masked by default, so we don't see what you type into forms.

Retention

Analytics events are retained for up to 12 months on PostHog's EU infrastructure, after which they're aggregated or deleted. Newsletter signups are kept for as long as you remain subscribed.

Legal basis (UK GDPR / PECR)

Analytics cookies require your consent. We don't initialise PostHog until you click Accept on the banner. If you decline (or ignore) the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no events are sent.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Email hello@fathercraft.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.
